“Money, “A commodity, such as gold, or an officially issued coin or paper note that is legally established as an exchangeable equivalent of all other commodities, such as goods and services. The official currency, coins, and negotiable paper notes issued by a government.” Bucks, cash, bread, currency, dough, filthy, dollar, peso, euro, yen, resources, means, assets, collateral, capital, funds, revenue, income, etc.

Matter,  (A.)something that has mass and has weight as solid, liquid, or gas. In spiritual and Christian Science, That which is postulated by the mortal mind, regarded as illusion and as the opposite of substance or God. (B.) The substance of thought or expression as opposed to the manner in which it is stated or conveyed. A subject of concern, feeling, or action; a trouble or difficulty”. -The American Heritage Dictionary.

Everyday in the news, we see and hear people who kill and die for money; people who steal, do abominable things, kill, or commit suicide . Politicians, government officials, and military men who dishonor their positions, uniforms, and oaths because of money. Even Powerful people succumb to the power of money; and here in the Philippines, people sell their sacred votes for money.

Because of  money family breaks up, parents sell their children, children hate their parents, businessperson exploit their workers, and workers steal or rebel on their employers. Furthermore, because of money, women sell their bodies, people engaged in flesh trade, pushers sell dangerous drugs, friends betray friends, relationships are destroyed. For money, even the spiritualists, priests, and  pastors sell their souls and turn their backs from their faith. Maybe the reason why coins are round, because money makes the world go round; it is powered by and revolves around money.

Money is matter; it is only a piece of paper, or a piece of metal, a none living things, a dead matter. But why is it that money matters these much? And why do people seems to just can’t get enough with it? And even those people with enormous amount are not satisfy and are wanting for more. Money does matter; but does it matter that much? Do we have to practically sell the essentials in us to the devil? Do we have to spend our most prescious time, our prescious breath, our whole life to over endeavor for wealth. If we would really analyze it, it’s a sheer stupidity if we would do so.

There are two kinds of matter the gross and the subtle matter. Matter in the form of solid and liquid are considered gross matter, while matter in gaseous state, together with the wind and the sound, are matter in subtle form. Money’s power is in its subtle form; for money is the source of temporary power, false security, and flickering sensual enjoyment. Since many people are dying for money, money has the power to control them That is why those people with enormous amount of money are powerful people; particularly in times when everything has a price; practically, when nothing cannot be bought by money. Power need not be absolute to corrupt a person. Even without money, many people are already corrupted by it; because within their minds is the intense goal to accumulate riches. Madness, illusion, just imagine a piece of paper controling everyone’s life. But I was told that we choose to be here in this world; because, basically, we want to be in illusion. Thus we accept the things which are not, and our perception of reality is erroneous. We should never underestimate the power of illlusion, and money is one of the many assets of illusion.

Money, definitely, is made of matter. But what made-of the human beings, who are the users of money? When we speak of material energy, we should be aware of another energy, the spiritual energy, which is different from and more powerful than matter. A vast subject to dealt with, and this article will not go deep into this subject. But a Great Soul, in one of his most immortal word, describes the importance of a spirit soul, he said; “What profits a man if he gains the whole world but lost his soul.” Clearly, soul (spirit) is real and for Christ Jesus, the temporary material money of the whole world is not enough for the worth of a single eternal soul. No amount of money can truly satisfy the need of the spirit, which is the real essence of every person. Matter for matter, spirit for spirit, spirits need spiritual food and its happiness is not in material things. But because the soul identifies the material body as the self, he was in illusion that the source of happiness is in material things. One’s identity can only be realized by a perfect intelligence; definitely not by anyone whose intelligence is distorted by darkness because his eyes and mind are covered by illusory paper.

Lust for money, not love for money, is the root of all evil. Love is purely spiritual, we should not equate it with anything material. Money is neutral, it is not inherently evil. Illusion is indeed powerful, but its source, The Cause of all causes, is by far more powerful. The Most Compassionate Powerful Supreme Person has the power to turn money into a flower offering of love. (Buying the Stairway to Heaven) But although this process is already known, its application seemingly is not easy; it is even harder than to pass a camel through the eye of the needle. It was written that there are two roads in this life, one is narrow the other is wide. Have you ever ask why it was described that the road to perdition is wide; definitely, to accomodate the vast number of its threaders. And if you would argue that this is not so because the world is filled with different religion and each one of them has a great number of followers; I will ask you to listen to the prayers of the so-called religious people. Because I am certain that if you would, you will know that the prayers of the great number of them are more or less about money.
